Dillion Blevins: American Plumber Stories

How did you get started in the plumbing trade?
I am a 3rd generation plumber. After spending 25 years on active duty, I came back to the trade. Followed family footsteps and started my own plumbing company.
What do you like most about your work as a plumber?
I like the challenge of custom built new construction homes. I also enjoy installing plumbing in these new homes with the attention to detail learned from years of PCCs and PCIs (pre combat checks and pre combat inspections). In most cases a new home is the most money a family or individual will spend at one time. I take pride in plumbing these houses in a manner (that in my mind) the home owner will invite people over to look at the rough in!
What advice do you have for the younger generation entering the plumbing trade?
Take pride in your trade, don't just make it work, or just do it to code... do it so your proud of it, and your quality of work is noticeable to others.
