Hunter Douglas: American Plumber Stories

Read his American Plumber story!

How did you get started in the plumbing trade?

Plumbing was the last trade I ever wanted to be in, but at the time I had to find a 2nd/3rd job and my buddy (who is now my helper/employee) was working at this big company building these track homes and said we are hiring! So I gave it a go and fell in love with it!

What do you like most about your work as a plumber?

The satisfaction you get once everything is complete, the work of art, and the freedom I’ve earned to turn this into something bigger than just plumbing.

What advice do you have for the younger generation entering the plumbing trade?

Get into rough plumbing as soon as you can before learning all the finish / service and repair side of things. In my opinion that’s how you become a more rounded person and plumber
