Tim Barnum: American Plumber Stories

Read his American Plumber story!

How did you get started in the plumbing trade?

Joined the US Airforce. They trained me as a plumber. When i got out of the Airforce in 1992 i started working for Roto Rooter. In 1995 I started Barnum Plumbing with my wife. She ran all of the calls with me. We worked as a team. We built our milllion dollar business over the next 20 years. About 80% of our customers were regulars. On July 15, 2015 I sold the business. I then retired for a year and really missed being out there in the field. I did sign a 5 year non compete so, I couldn't work for another plumber or start on my own again. I went to work as a contractor for the Airforce doing plumbing and hvac. On July 16, 2020 five years after selling by business i started all over again. Me and my wife run service calls 7 days a week now.
